TNF: Rams vs 49ers

We've got an interesting one here for Thursday Night Football. The St. Louis Rams host The San Francisco 49ers. Expecting a lot of defense in this game.

I was horribly wrong about both of these teams last week. Well, St. Louis at least. There was always a chance that Indy could win, but I thought the Rams would give Dallas a run for their money. Instead, Dallas blew them out of the water.

The thing is these teams know each other very well. Interested in seeing games within this division. So far the Rams and Seahawks are 1-0 in their division. Last season, both games went to OT. They tied the first time and St. Louis won in OT the second time around. The Rams are a weird team. They'll have a good game against Arizona, but stink it up in Atlanta & Dallas. Leads me to believe they can only win games against division foes. It also leads me to believe they can only play well at Home.

Getting to the game, I've mentioned the Rams Pass Rush and how good it is. That may not have been the case against The Cowboys, they're better than people give them credit for. Bradford is working with some young talent, and their offense is weird sometimes. Austin needs to be a lot more involved in the offense. He's definitely their big play guy. They've got to open up their offense more and make some big plays down the field. St. Louis also needs to show up the run defense. Demarco ran all over them again. The running game also opened up the passing game let Romo throw 3 TD's on them. We saw last week that even Indy's pass rush got the better of Kaepernick on more than one occasion.

The Niners, coming off a blowout loss against Indy are looking to get another win. Kaepernick struggled against this team last season, and even though he's got a new weapon on Boldin, The Rams defense will be on him, especially playing with such energy at home. Kaepernick needs to make smart decisions and run the ball more to open the passing game. Last week, The Colts defense made the right adjustments and The Niners only scored 7 points. Kaeprnick isn't strong against a decent pass rush. He'll make the wrong decisions and he'll look just lost. It could be The Super Bowl curse. You never know.

Tough to call this one. It's really hard to see a team like The Niners losing three games in a row and dropping to 1-3. But The Rams always play them tough and they love playing at home. Tough one to call. I think San Fran is a better team than St. Louis, but the Rams definitely have a shot at beating them. I'm gonna say The Niners finally get a win in OT, 23-20 winners in St. Louis. Wouldn't be surprised in the least if St. Louis pulled the upset.
