Carmelo Done In New York?

Is it now time for the Knicks to trade Carmelo Anthony?

Why? Because clearly Dolan won't fire Mike Woodson. The much hyped New York Knicks came into the 2013-14 NBA season with Championship aspirations after a 54 win season. 20 games later, the Knicks ( 5-15 ) are sitting in 14th of 15 spots in the Weak Eastern Conference. But Knicks fans, we should have seen this coming.

On October 16, Carmelo publicly stated "everyone dreams of becoming a free agent" which in turn started a fire storm of unnecessary questions regarding his future with the New York Knicks. I understand that the opt-out procedure is typical for superstars in the NBA. I understand not wanting to leave that extra year at max value but sometimes silence is more powerful than spoken words. I truly believe that Carmelo Anthony would have learned this by now after coming off a great season, but he continues to be the same ball stopper, selfish, Star. Even the great George Karl could not get Melo to buy into a team first style of basketball.

Yet Melo always seems to have an excuse for why he didn't get the job done and lead this team to victory. Doesn't this sound eerily similar to the Denver Nuggets the year we got Carmelo Anthony? Doesn't this remind you of all the interviews he conducted throwing his coaching team under the bus? Nothing has changed. Carmelo is who he is and we need to trade him, get what we can get for him, and move on. Knicks, we have seen this story before. We've seen it last year with the Lakers and Dwight Howard.

The Knicks can not go into the 2014-2015 season with no talent and no realistic plan! It pains me to admit but Melo needs to go! Let's look towards the future and by any means necessary get the Championship back to the "Mecca of Basketball"- New York City.
